Vettel’s Incredible F1 Career
Vettel’s F1 career will be one that goes down in history. Vettel had an astonishingly successful early career in motorsport, leading him to become the youngest ever Formula 1 World Champion in 2010, a title he has held on to ever since.
Vettel’s 16-year career in F1 saw him racing for BMW Sauber, Toro Rosso, Red Bull, Ferrari and Aston Martin. Making his debut in 2007, he replaced Robert Kubica at the 2007 United States Grand Prix, becoming the first teenager to score a point in F1. The driver secured his first Title in 2010 with Red Bull Racing, taking the Title from Fernando Alonso in the final race of the season. Vettel then went on to dominate the 2011 season, winning an impressive 11 out of 19 races.
After a challenging start racing the RB8 in 2012, Vettel managed to turn it around and win four consecutive races and ultimately defend his Title once more. Vettel then went on to finish the 2013 season with an even more impressive nine consecutive race wins, breaking his 2011 points tally and securing the Championship for yet another year. Vettel went on to race with Ferrari in 2015, joining initially on a 3-year contract but only moving to Aston Martin in 2021.
The driving ace had an exciting time in F1, securing multiple records including Youngest Polesitter, Youngest World Champion, Youngest Double World Champion, Youngest Triple World Champion, Youngest Quadruple World Champion and Most Consecutive Victories in Consecutive Events.
Joining the iconic Aston Martin in 2021, Vettel also made history. He claimed a second-place podium at the 2021 Azerbaijan Grand Prix which marked the race team’s first ever podium in Formula 1. Retiring at the end of the 2022 season, his name will go down in F1 history and he will remain an F1 icon long after the end of his career in the sport.
