A unique piece of Formula 1 history, this race-used seat was specifically molded for Edoardo Mortara during his 2012 Abu Dhabi Young Driver Test with the Lotus F1 Team. This test was a crucial moment in Mortara’s career, as the accomplished DTM and Formula 3 driver had the opportunity to showcase his talent in a modern F1 car.
The seat is a custom-fitted carbon fiber racing seat, designed to provide maximum support and comfort for the driver inside the tight confines of a Formula 1 cockpit. It retains its original Lotus F1 branding, along with signs of authentic use from the Abu Dhabi test session at the Yas Marina Circuit.
The 2012 Lotus E20 car, which Mortara tested, was one of the strongest challengers that season, securing a race victory with Kimi Räikkönen in Abu Dhabi and multiple podium finishes. This seat represents not only Mortara’s brief experience in F1 but also a golden era for Lotus as a competitive force on the grid.
