The race was red-flagged on the first lap due to a collision between Sergio Pérez, Nico Hulkenberg and Kevin Magnussen. Elsewhere on the first lap Sainz picked up a puncture after contact with Piastri, and later in the race Ocon collided with Gasly. The eventful race was won by Charles Leclerc, in front of his home crowd, with McLaren’s Oscar Piastri claiming the second-place spot after an impressive drive around the tight streets of Monte Carlo.
