This official 2019 race used DRS flap was used by the Sport Pesa Racing Point F1 team during the 2019 season, with Sergio Pérez and Lance Stroll behind the wheel. This DRS flap has the ‘BWT’ branding on it.
The DRS flap was introduced in 2011 which is an overtaking aid. The flap allows the drivers to increase straight-line speed by releasing rear wing drag through a slot that the driver can open when he is within 1 second of the car in front. This allows the driver to more easily overtake in the last few seconds of the race.
