Lewis Hamilton 2010 McLaren F1® Team Race Used Race Suit

As the most decorated driver in F1® history, Lewis Hamilton is widely considered one of the greatest drivers the sport has ever seen. With seven World Championships to his name, as well as 105 race wins, the British driver has undeniably reached legendary status. 

Now, one collector has the chance to own this authentic, race suit, worn by Hamilton during the 2010 season with McLaren F1® Team. 

McLaren’s last Drivers’ World Champion 

Whilst the iconic team are fighting for the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships in 2025 (after winning the latter in 2024), Lewis Hamilton remains the last driver to wear the crown whilst donning the McLaren branding. 

Hamilton’s talent was evident from the moment he stepped into the cockpit of an F1® car. Joining McLaren in 2007, he had one of the best rookie seasons of all time (tying with Jacques Villeneuve in 1996). Narrowly missing out of the World Title by a single point in his first year was a crystal ball look into what was to come for the rest of his career. 

A year later, he would go on to claim the Drivers’ Championship, winning by a single point over his closest competitor, Felipe Massa, in the Ferrari. 

Hamilton remained with the Woking-based team until the end of 2012, enjoying six seasons with them and collecting 21 wins over the years. 

His racing career with McLaren was an iconic era both for the driver and the team. Having gone on to become a seven-time World Champion with Mercedes, his time with McLaren is still fondly remembered and honoured as playing an enormous part in his success as an F1® driver. 

The 2010 Season 

Two seasons after his initial Championship win, Hamilton was still chasing the top spot of the podium. Claiming three race victories in 2010 as well as six further podiums – five of which were second places – he finished the season in fourth place with an impressive 240 points. 

It was a particularly close season, with only 16 points separating the top four drivers. For fans it was an exciting year, with many of the cars appearing difficult to drive, which as a result saw many drivers making mistakes, including the top contenders. This, however, lead to one of the most thrilling title showdowns. 

The Race Suit 

This race suit was worn by Lewis Hamilton during the 2010 season and showcases the iconic McLaren detailing used by the team. It was one of the seasons in which a key sponsor was Vodaphone, which became synonymous with the team and the drivers during their reign at the team.  

Featuring further branding including Santander, Aigo and Johnnie Walker, this suit tells the stories of the season.
