Any orders placed between Monday 3rd November and Thursday 25th December benefit from our extended returns policy. The overall piece looks nice and looks exactly as it does in the picture. The five grey "fins" that form the body of the piece are plastic; the pictures look like it could be some sort of frosted glass or something but it's just plastic.
The clock movement itself is an inexpensive UTS Quartz clock. Mine arrived damaged and inoperable. Installing a battery did nothing and reaching out to Customer Service wasn't helpful. I got an email reply that they were sorry, had not received much feedback about this clock movement, and that was it. I guess I can take the entire thing apart and take it to a local clock repair store or something, but be ready for nice looking paperweight.
The "Wheel Nut Collar" itself looks nice and feels weighty. There's no indication on the piece itself whether it's race-used or in what race it was used. It includes a NFC tag you can scan with your phone to register to your F1 Authentics account, but all this does is register it to your account. There is no way to tell what race the collar was used in, what car it was used on, what year, nothing. Literally the only way to know that this is a "race-used" wheel nut collar is by taking F1 Authentics word for it. Note that the wheel nut collar itself is *flawless* without any scratches, wear, or any other indication that it might have been used at any point.
I bought this as a gift for a friend who's a huge McLaren F1 fan. The idea that it could be race-used was thrilling for him, and the piece looked nice enough and was heavy enough that he was super happy with the gift. Of course, he didn't pay for it. If this was something I had purchased for myself, I would have been disappointed with the overall experience and product.
